Tuesday Awards Luncheon Keynote Speaker: Derek Hyra

NACCED is very excited to have Prof. Derek Hyra, the founder of the Metropolitan Policy Center at American University, will be the Keynote Speaker at this year’s NACCED Annual Conference and Training in Portland, Oregon! Derek is the author of the recently-published bookRace, Politics and Class in the Cappuccino City and will speak to conference attendees about gentrification and displacement issues. His research focuses on processes of neighborhood change, with an emphasis on housing, urban politics, and race.

We're excited to announce the Conference Wide Event will be held at The Oregon Zoo!

Always a highlight of the NACCED conference, this year's closing event will be held at The Oregon Zoo, in hilly Southwest Portland. Join your fellow attendees for an evening of socializing in this indoor, outdoor space. The Oregon Zoo is accessible by light rail trains (MAX).

Attendees will be able to get up-close and personal with three animal ambassadors during the event! Stay tuned for which animals you will encounter!
