Selling County-Owned Foreclosed Housng

Posted By Rebecca Madrigal, Tuesday, May 24, 2011

County of Fresno in California is seeing many of its HOME and CDBG-assisted housing reverting back to the County as a result of borrower defaulting on the loans. Government Code 25526 lays out the procedure for counties to follow in the sale of county-owned properties. Has any other county discovered a more efficient way to dispose of/sell county-owned property acquired through foreclosure other than the public auction before the Board of Supervisors? If so please email me at: rxmadrigal@co.fresno.ca.us

Thanks

Affordable Homeownership Initiative

Posted By Jane M. Eboch, Wednesday, March 16, 2011

I've been talking with John about an initiative that is intended to help communities improve their homeownership programs to preserve long term affordability.  It is a peer network model called "Cornerstone Partnership", sponsored by NCB Capital Impact, through a grant from the Ford Foundation.

It is aimed at promoting best pracitces in the field of affordable homeownership.  NACCED could join as a national outreach partner to  promote the principles and share the various tools and services available.  I've attached a fact sheet and more details are found on the webpage linked on the fact sheet.

NACCED may host a short webinar to inform you about the opportunity, and then discuss it further at our meeting in July and conference in September.  Hope you'll take a look at this.
