WASHINGTON, DC – MARCH 21, 2023 - The National Association for County Community and Economic Development (NACCED) is excited to welcome PolicyMap as the latest member to join NACCED as a Platinum Associate member!
NACCED’s associate members provide valuable products and services within the affordable housing, community development and economic development industry. These members are established industry leaders, committed to promoting and enhancing the success of counties implementing the nation’s affordable housing and community development programs.
PolicyMap, a geographic information system (GIS) data and mapping platform accessed online by municipal, city and county government departments and agencies across the US, bridges the gap between data and action. Over +75,000 indicators inform community and housing needs assessments, strengthen grant applications, and target intervention strategies where they are needed most. PolicyMap’s vast geographic data warehouse includes data from over 150 authoritative public and private data sources spanning cross-sector areas including housing, federal program eligibility, demographics, health, jobs and more. The catalog is expertly curated and standardized to ensure layers and points are the most current and accurate available, with the greatest national coverage at the local level.
PolicyMap’s mapping platform is designed for use by non-GIS professionals, data-literate researchers, and everyone in between. Users can build visualizations to better understand neighborhood conditions, assess community health through medical and non-medical (SDOH) factors, analyze racial and ethnic disparities, evaluate the safety, quality, and cost of housing, and more.
PolicyMap began as a small division of Reinvestment Fund, a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), in 2007. Since, they’ve helped numerous housing, community, and economic development organizations invest strategically and equitably, and improve outcomes.
CEO and Founder, Maggie McCullough’s career in City, State and Federal government fueled her passion for making information easy-to-understand and actionable. She is excited, stating, “PolicyMap is grateful to become a member of a NACCED and looks forward to helping members access key geographic indicators to drive strategic and impactful plans within their communities.”
